Adrian Chiles most watched man in Britain
|
TV workhorse Adrian Chiles was the single most watched person on TV this year – having reached over a billion people across his many shows.
As well as presenting prime time BBC1 magazine programme The One Show, he also fronts Match of the Day 2 and The Apprentice: You’re Fired!.
But let’s get Ronny real here – even these shows combined wouldn’t stand a hope in hell of getting near a billion (rough guess, more like 20 million). It was his work on the Euro 2008 Championships and the Beijing Olympics that beamed his face across the world, making it more viewed than the moon.
He told The Times: “If I’m the most watched person, all I can say is there can’t be much else on television. I bet Ant and Dec are hurting now. This must hurt. But don’t cry for them, they will be back."
It was reported six months ago that the Beeb are paying him £1 million a year to keep him from straying over to ITV.
